Patek Philippe Nautilus Perpetual Calendar

Patek Philippe Nautilus Perpetual Calendar

£220,000.00

Introducing the very first Grand Complication within the Nautilus collection, reference 5740/1G. Featuring a truly remarkable ultra-thin mechanical self-winding movement within, this Perpetual Calendar Nautilus is hugely special, and offers the rare synergy of a sports watch with a technologically advanced sophistication. Taking its crown as Patek Philippe’s thinnest perpetual calendar ever produced, it is to no surprise that this reference has been hugely over-subscribed since its introduction back in 20**, and this is proven by the sheer lack of availability of such watch, even on the pre-owned market. Initially looking within the case and at the dial in particular, the watch (to no real surprise) features a blue sunburst dial at its base, which looks just beautiful when it is layered with its white gold applied indices, hands, and green-glowing white luminous within. The white-on-blue theme is continued throughout the dial with its dial text and its perpetual calendar displays. The right sub-dial displays the month and the leap year, the left sub-dial is its day and 24-hour indication, and the lower sub-dial is its date and moon phase indicator. Differing to what most people regard Nautilus’ as being (which is usually crafted in steel), this 5740’s case and bracelet are made entirely out of white gold, and thanks to its genius-design case and screw-down crown, is also water-resistant to 60m! Its 40mm case size is arguably the most perfect size a modern watch can be, and when this case is just 8.42mm thick, the watch is quite possibly one of the best-wearing Nautilus’ we’ve ever had the privilege of showcasing. Being the first men’s Nautilus to feature the push-button fold-over clasp, which has now been furthered to a few other references as of 2021, the bracelet is stacks above its predecessors with regards to comfort, ease of use and most importantly, security.

Condition Report:

In like-new condition, and even featuring its manufacturer-applied protective stickers to the clasp area of the watch, “new watches” really don’t come better than this. Complete in its entirety, the watch comes with its Patek Philippe winding box (to keep its Perpetual Calendar function running), as well as its instruction booklets, swing tag, white gold indicator pusher, and its all-important Certificate of Origin placing the watch under manufacturer’s warranty until 20 . Its box is something very special indeed, especially given that almost all Patek’s come in the same box, and if set correctly and kept within its winding box, the watch will keep the correct time etc. until the year 2100.
