In 1966-67, wearing his Rolex Oyster, Sir Francis Chichester became the first man to circumnavigate the globe single-handedly, becoming the inspiration for the Yacht-Master series and eventually this model 126622, a piece which blends iconic design with state-of-the-art materials. It features a 40mm case forged from Rolex’s patented ‘Rolesium’, a blend of stainless steel and platinum, as well as a bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel entirely in platinum for a glistening, silvery aesthetic. The rhodium dial with electric blue detailing is in keeping with the stone-cold look of the watch, and offers incredible legibility thanks to its broad hands and hour markers, with its Chromalight display offering a long-lasting glow. The watch is fitted with an Oyster bracelet in stainless steel, with Oysterlock folding clasp and Easylink extension link, enabling the wearer to adjust the bracelet on the go, for immense comfort and stability on the wrist.
