Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222

Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222

£55,500.00

“A wearable piece of history brought to the modern era - this is the watch that Vacheron fans have been praying for.”

Part of the “Holy Trinity” of watchmaking alongside Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin was founded in 1755, making it the oldest continuously operating watch manufacturer, and has now been at the very pinnacle of horology for several decades. For the brand’s 270th anniversary last year, Vacheron decided to re-release their iconic 1970s creation and the father of the Overseas, the ref.222 ‘Jumbo’. Honouring the heritage of the line, the case is 37mm, with a unique grooved bezel and iconic integrated bracelet, both forged from gleaming 18k yellow gold. The golden dial keeps the elegant continuity of the timepiece, complementing its smooth lines and curvatures, whilst modern touches include the Vacheron Maltese cross embossed in gold on the lower-right lug, and the sapphire display window on the caseback, through which the wearer can see the ornate and ultra-thin in-house cal.2455/2 movement. At just 7.95mm thick, the watch is beautifully sleek, and wears comfortably and stylishly on the wrist. A symbol of impeccable taste, as well as a flair for the historic.
