When Swiss explorer Auguste Piccard first took his submarine down to an incredible depth of 3,131m, a specially-designed Rolex accompanied him, and emerged from the water keeping perfect time. This was the inspiration for the 1953 launch of the Rolex Submariner, arguably the most important watch in history, inspiring not only future dive watches but the entire sports watch category. This piece, the 116610LV, was released in 2010 and discontinued in 2020, and few watches have gained as much fame and popularity as the legendary “Hulk”, nicknamed for its bright green colour.
