Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 Excellence Platine

Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 Excellence Platine
“The craftsmanship that’s gone into this unique watch is sensational - revolving the movement, and creating a slim case, and dial, entirely in platinum.”
Part of the “Holy Trinity” of watchmaking alongside Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin was founded in 1755, making it the oldest continuously operating watch manufacturer, and has now been at the very pinnacle of horology for several decades. This particular piece was conceived in 1921, when - as the legend goes - a Vacheron client reached out to ask them to design a watch that was easily legible while driving. The result was this iconic look, with the dial and entire movement rotated 45 degrees, leading to the release, 100 years later, of this sensational Historiques American limited edition, with both its 40mm case and dial expertly forged from bright, warm Platinum, gorgeous polished Arabic numerals, and a blue small seconds hand for a stylish splash of colour. The rotation of the watch has the crown positioned at the eccentric position of 12 o’clock, in the upper right corner of the case, for yet another individual touch. At just 8.06mm thick, the watch is beautifully sleek, and is powered by Vacheron’s in-house cal.4400AS movement, visible through the sapphire display caseback. Limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, the Historiques American 1921 stands out in every way.
