In 1972, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche designed the Chronograph 1, inspired by the gauges on the dashboard of another icon - the Porsche 911. It instantly caused shockwaves in the watch world, blending form, function and legibility in an avant-garde package, and like other classic watches, was very much ahead of its time. This model, limited to 350 pieces, has been crafted specifically for Hodinkee and their love of watches, Porsche and high-level engineering, and is designed and hand-crafted by Porsche in their Swiss laboratory. The watch features a 40.8mm titanium case and titanium bracelet, and a matte black dial with the original Chronograph 1’s iconic 6-9-12 subdial layout, with a 30-minute counter at the top, a 12-hour counter at the bottom, and running seconds at 9 o’clock, as well as a date aperture and of course, a chronograph function. An homage to their past, the dial displays the old Porsche design logo and font, and the ‘H’ on the dial, in Porsche Design Red from 1972, is a subtle reference to the collaboration with Hodinkee. A powerful piece of history.

Condition Report:

In very lightly-worn condition, the watch comes complete with its original box, booklets and guarantee card, and remains under Porsche’s international warranty until 2026.
